Intellectual property, such as information, data, and software,
is fundamentally different from tangible, physical property.

We live in societies built upon the ideals of equal opportunity and freedom, and in the modern era, software and knowledge are the essential engines that keep these societies functioning. Therefore, the free and open sharing of knowledge is vastly more productive, benefiting a far greater number of people than the monopolization of ideas ever could.

Creative and "synthetive" individuals thrive in environments where their minds are unburdened by artificial restrictions. Ultimately, a culture of seamless knowledge-sharing fosters deep cooperation, making our societies more collaborative, dynamic, and enjoyable to live in.
